It's an issue Republicans as a whole will have to face, especially since Trump's strong debate performance yesterday offers a chance that he might, against expectations, win in Iowa and wrap up the nomination early. Some are already facing it.

They might oppose Trump if he wins the nomination, but what are they going to do? Get behind Mikey Bloomberg's 3rd party try? Support Clinton?
I don't see either case happening.
And if Bernie wins the nod, will Republicans line up to support a man they have spent decades lambasting as a commie-socialist?
Not happening, either.
If Trump is the nominee, they may sit on their hands. But they're not going to openly oppose him.
One of them said he would actually work for Hillary's campaign if Trump is the Repub nominee. For those who have more ore less implicitly denounced Trump as fascist, it will be hard to support him.
We'll just have to see what they do when the Trump hits the fan.
Speaking of debates, I dont know who all noticed this, but someone will ... as a Democrat voter what is disappointing to me is AGAIN, the DNC chose to have their debate right as the NFL Divisional Play- Offs are winding down, This will be one of the most watched events of the year besides the SuperBowl and championship games millions of people across the nation will be in sports bars and having parties, catching all the closing stats, etc ... so they will most like have to catch it online or later I guess, they done this on one of the other debates as well, during a big nationally televised sporting event ... yet I havent heard a damn thing about it in the news. At least the goddamn Republicans have more debates, more choices and dont hold during importante televised events, NO, I dont like the kind of shit that the DNC been pulling on us as Democrat voters, moreso I thing it's disgusting. I'll shut the f**k up now
This all confuses me (I'm a Brit). Trump is three stops from Dagenham and very clearly so but we seem to over here too to have people (Corbyn) from the edge of their parties doing very well. Why? Almost everyone seems to think they will do well until the big test. It is very odd. Corbyn aced the UK Labour Party election but does anyone seriously consider him a PM? Ditto Trump who is the Republican's arse-end of Bedlam and again folks seem to think he'll get the nod but not the final nod. It is odd.
Ranch: If that's true, it's bad timing, all right.
Nick: I don't know anything about Corbyn, but the problem here is that we have a large segment of the Republican base which is essentially cut off from reality and living in a fake reality which has been carefully constructed for them by the right-wing media. The problem is that this bloc of people has now escaped the control of its creators. They really think Trump is some kind of Messiah.

PS. Despite all the shit hitting more fans than a Florida TGIF... have you heard the news on stem cell treatment for MS. It was on the UK TV last night. And there was a guy who a year ago needed 24hr acute care and he can now walk and ride a bike again. It warmed the cockles. I needed some good news and watching they seem to be making considerable strides (I know) in making the disabled walk again. I seem to recall there was a guy who did that 2000 years ago. Now it would appear Sheffield University Hospitals is doing it better than Lourdes.

Nick: These advances in medical technology are much more important than most of the political and ideological stuff, for the alleviation of suffering that they provide. These are good examples of how much difference they make to human quality of life.
No thanks, of course, to the religious nuts fighting like hell against stem-cell research.
