Video of the day -- the sky is no longer the limit

Created by Faye Kane.  Definitely use fullscreen.

Update:  The original video was deleted from YouTube, but re-uploaded here.  It's a lower resolution version but still worth using fullscreen.

Wonderful. A delightful work of art.

Here's something that you and your readers may enjoy.

A talk (1 hour) by Lawrence Krauss, a particle physicist (and atheist, friend of Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins).

I was able to follow most of it. I plan to listen to it more than once to be able to understand it as best as I can as a lay person.

This was a nice companion piece to go with the book I'm currently reading: "Why Does The World Exist, An Existential Detective Story," by Jim Holt.

I highly recommend it.

Inspirational, isn't it? The song used in the video has an unusual distinction -- it was actually broadcasted on Mars.

I'll check out the link, thanks. I have a couple of Krauss's books.

Ain't science grand?

Do you see humans making it to Mars in our lifetimes? I certainly hope we do.

Indeed, if only the pioneers like Galileo and Newton could see what we've accomplished!

Do you see humans making it to Mars in our lifetimes?

We've already been there -- and to most of the solar system -- in the person of our machines. As for sending actual flesh-and-blood humans there, I've posted about that before -- too expensive, too dangerous, no reason to do it.
