Silver lining
Closer examination of this week's California supreme court defeat over Proposition 8 suggests that there may be some good in it. Always remember, too, that Proposition 8 passed by a very small margin. The balance of opinion is inexorably shifting, and one way or another, this fight will be won in the end.
On a lighter note, apparently not every objection to gay marriage is based on religious bigotry. Here's one that's based on -- well, I'm not sure if there even is a word for this kind of "argument", but it's more than a little too self-revealing.
Update: A federal suit has been filed to overturn Proposition 8 -- supported, interestingly, by a prominent Republican, Ted Olson.

Man oh man guy .... I was reading that stuff from Schulman... is this dude for real? I had to read it twice to actually try to absorb what this dude was trying to say! Folk's are actually more troubled with marriage,sex,love affair's than I have imagined... it is beyond my comprehension how someone can actually have so much opposition and concern over what some stranger is doing sexually or a love affair or whatever. I wonder if these folk's watch dog's as well shagging or taking a dump or whatever? Um,um,um .....
That Schulman thing is pretty amazing, isn't it? No wonder his own marriages don't last.
This guy is pretty much a pop culture jerk anyway's... the first thing that caught my attention on that...was when he said "anti-homosexual" bigotry. Why in the hell is someone a bigot if they are anti-homo? This is one of these punk's that call folk's nazi's like me, a f'n whining pussy that probably call's himself liberal...but to stupid to think for himself, many I have seen since I been online now 13 month's. I have buddies that are anti-homo ... not that they would bother a homo or hurt them... but they dont like to see two guy's making out or whatever... so your a f'n biggot for that. I sure as hell aint going start to love someone because of their sexual orientation or fetish, I frankly dont care what folk's do... I'm a pervert myself... I just dont want to suck dick's. I am 110% for same sex marriage...or even marrying underage,incest or what ever, it's not my damn business...or this punk's business what folk's want to do, that's why this fuss over something as stupid as gay marriage is so nutty. This crap about what Leviticus or whatever say's too... just as stupid, these Jesus freak's are a bunch of pussies too. Everyone was telling me to see "Brokeback Mountain" or whatever cause of how good it is. I never seen and dont feel a need to... the last thing I want to see is two ranch hand's falling in love. I lived around gay's all my life ... I dont need that crap to educate me... or make me liberated. So folk's like me are bigot's or nazi's in today's culture... this is nothing but a herd mentality.
If somebody is hostile to homosexuals as a class of people, then yes, he is a bigot by definition.
